Mt. Charleston Run

Well today I decided to go to Mt. Charleston again and run the 8.5 mile route I do. I wasn't in the mood really, but it was the last day I could do it before I go back home to run in the Boilermaker. It was hot out and my stomach bothered me a little, but I am glad I got the run in. I did it in 1:09:46, the best time yet. I think my legs and stamina are getting better. I took some Niteworks before and after I ran and that seemed to help eleviate the soreness I was feeling. I also took some Joint Support after the run to help prevent too much soreness in my knees.
Tommorow I am seeing my trainer at the gym. Hopefully I am not too sore.
Food so far for the day:
2 shakes
Main Meal- Beans, Salad, Roast Beef, Pork

Such a fuck up

Well today, my friend Phet called me to hang out at the Gold Coast casino. I really wanted to hang out with her, I have such a crush on her, but she's 39 with a 3 month old baby and says I am like her baby brother to her. In my mind I can't get over how attracted I am to her though. We gambled together for hours playing Pai Gow Poker, by 3a.m. I lost $1000. I decided to go to the Bellagio without her and bought in another $1000 and lost it. I went back to the ATM and bought in for another $400 on Pai Gow Tiles and got hot.
Long story short, normally my messed up self would have lost everything, $2400 total. But my stupid self got very, very Lucky and I ended up cashing out $10,000!! Got very lucky. On the ride home I called Phet and we talked about our situation. Nothing resolved but she basically told me she likes me very well as a friend and doesn't need sex or anything more from me. I guess I need to keep looking for the "right" partner, but it was nice to win money instead of lose like I normally do. I still owe $60,000 to Credit Card companies though. Not sure what to do about that.
As for food. I had the drink mix from Herbalife-Mango, Aloe and Tea combined, many times today and then Phet and I had dinner together and I had the Scallops, frieds, I thought it was baked, my mistake.

Website

As many of you know, I am a full time casino dealer, but I do herbalife part time around my schedule. I was just wondering if anyone has gone to my site, and what people think. www.weightloss222.com
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Has anyone had troubles navigating it or checking out. I am new to this and I am trying to learn how to better develop the site.
Thanks everyone.

Awesome Run!!

I got out of work and got home around 5a.m.. I decided I am soo dedicated to training as much as possible for the Boilermaker road race back home on July 12, that I went up to Mt. Charleston again for an 8.5 mile run. I also am very dedicated to losing weight, not just for myself but also for my weight loss challenge and to show my customers and friends, what is possible with good nutrion and good exercise. This is what I had when I got home about an hour before the run:
1 Orange and bunch of Niteworks (just two scoops with 8-12 ounces of water, before running and after) helps a ton with soreness!!
Oranges are something I don't eat very often, partly because they are messy. I was thinking about what I did as a kid playing AYSO soccer and we had oranges at halftime. I figured it was worth a try.

So here's what happened. At first I wasn't moving great, but I brought a timer with me and I set goals in my mind throughout different markers in the 8.5 mile distance. It helped a lot. In my mind I never thought about quiting but my body at times was hurting a lot. At the same time I got a second wind a couple times throughout the run. It feels soo good I cannot even explain it, but I will try. Basically, my body feels electric throughout for a brief time and all of a sudden the pain and wiryness goes away, it is awesome! I wish it lasted longer though. I was hitting all the marks throughout at the times I wanted to reach. Including the final time. The last time I ran it was in just under 1hr 15 minutes. This time at first I just wanted to do better than the last time, but as I got going, I realized I was feeling great and I decided to try for 1hr 10 minutes. I did it in 1:09:50 seconds!! I hit my goal, it feels soo good when you set a goal and hit it.
On a side not, coming home from the run, I got to thinking about a lot of things. Mostly what is going good for me and what is going bad for me.
Bad: Well my finances are a wreck, I have no girlfriend or wife, my car is falling apart and my house is deeply unsidedown and I am trying to get a government modification on it.
Good: I have my health, I found an incredible company that has helped me change my perspective and relationship with food-herbalife, I went from as large as 210lbs down to 172lbs now, I still have a loving extended family, Mom, Dad, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, all grown up now, 1 niece(2yr old) soo cute, 1 nephew(4yrs old)
Especially after hearing about all of these deaths the last two days, I am happy I am healthy. I was listening to something about Michael Jackson on the way home, and they played the song, we are the world, what an awesome song, Michael Jackson has been a little weird, but he sure was a great performer and singer, I felt soo bad for Fare. Fawset(can't spell) but I think she suffered long enough, I am sure she is in a better place now.

Beautiful isn't it!! Mt. Charleston
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Open Letter

On Jiggety Jigg blog she is doing something called an open letter with bloggers. I figured I'd give it a try, so here it is.

Dear Ms. M- I don't understand what you want. We go on two dates and we hookup on the second one. Then you hang out with my roommate and say just as friends. Were you trying to make me jealous. Now I don't want to get involved, because I don't like the silly games like that. Wish you didn't pull at my heart like that. http://www.jiggetyjigg.com/

Excuse to Run

I had to drop off my car after work at 5a.m. to Pep Boys. I had no one to bring me home, so I decided to run home, its only 2 miles but I don't run after work too much. The run was great, I did it in 14:10!! Woo hoo!! Nice cool temperature in the morning here in Las Vegas.

Worst Weekend, Great Tuesday morning

Well I had a terrible weekend as far as food and exercise is concerned. I get in these moods from time to time. I don't want to do much but relax. And then when I do, do something, its eating, drinking, and gambling. The two positives from it are I ended up winning money for once gambling and I hooked up with a girl. I weighed in Sunday night at 179 up 7lbs since Thursday. I am sure some of it was water weight/alcohol weight but still. I was frustrated with myself. I slept all day Monday before going into work at 8p.m.. I just was soo depressed and disappointed with myself.
After work at 5a.m. I knew because of all the extra sleep I got I would not be able to go to sleep. Therefore I went up to Mt. Charleston and ran 8.5 miles. Its beautiful up there. The first part was almost all up hill, the highest elevation I got to was 8600 ft. I feels like weighs on your ankles at times. The second part is almost all downhill and I was flying. It felt great!! I ran it in 1 hour 14 minutes and 43 seconds. Which is ok for me, but I want to do better next time. Oh and I saw two deer, one on the way up and one on the way back. I am sore right now but I am drinking my Nightworks which seems to help a lot with the soreness the next day.
I wish I had a small camera that I could take with me running, so I could share pics with all of you. Maybe down the road when I build my business a little more.
Have a great week!!

Trying something New

I have kinda hit a rock in the road lately with my diet. I can't seem to make much program lately. Mostly just staying about the same weight give or take a couple lbs. Therefor I am looking into trying something new that I have heard and read great things about called the La Bamba Diet. I am going to give this a try next weekend. Its not the best to do when you have to work, because you may have to go to the bathroom a lot because of the detoxing.
If anyone is interesting in trying this also, you can find the products on either www.shopherbalife.com/egould or www.weightloss222.com.
I will let you know soon how I do with this.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Can You “Snack” Your Way To Weight Loss Eating?

Can You “Snack” Your Way To Weight Loss Eating?

Normally you would think of snacks as a way to put on weight not a weight loss eating strategy. However, by shifting your eating habits to the right kinds of snacks, you can use this as an effective method to reduce unwanted pounds on your body.

Eating the wrong kinds of snacks are often major contributors to gaining excessive pounds. You cannot constantly snack on high fat potato chips, cookies, cake and other high calorie, high fat snacks and expect to lose weight. These snacks pile on the fat and calories and make it impossible to maintain your current weight.

However, there are plenty of other snacks that you can eat that will actually help you lose weight. In particular, snacks that are high in protein make excellent eating choices during the day between meals. The reason why is because these snacks offer a number of benefits that are far superior to the poor types of snacks.

Candies and sweets offer very little nutritional value to the body. While they may taste good, you pay a heavy price in high calorie intake, a slower metabolism and excessive weight gain. Your intake of these types of snacks should be significantly limited if you are looking to engage in good weight loss eating strategies.

Protein snacks make a much better choice when you need something to eat in the middle of the day. They offer a number of nutritional benefits to the body, without the price of the high calories that the sweets come with. If you feel the need to snack during the day, these are often excellent choices.

One of the biggest problems to eating sweets besides the high calorie rate is the fact that these types of snacks don’t do a good job at suppressing hunger. Often soon after you have eating a sweet, you are hungry again. If it’s not time for a meal, you often revert to even more sweets, thus perpetuating the cycle.

On the other hand, protein snacks do an excellent job at satisfying hunger. Therefore, once you have eaten them, you typically don’t have a need to eat more. This reduces your calorie intake, allows you to burn more calories faster and thus makes it easier to lose weight.

Some examples of good protein snacks are nuts, soups, low fat cheese, slice deli meat and eggs. One of the best and most popular form of protein snacks are protein bars. Protein bars don’t have to be prepared, don’t have to be refrigerated and you can carry them anywhere.

If you are interested in some great protein bars to help you with weight loss eating, check out my website at http://www.weightloss222.com

After work and today

Well after work, when I got home at 4:14a.m., I fell again for my most common problem. It was my first day back to work from a 4 day weekend and I needed to relax. How do I do that I tend to watch tv for an hour or two and snack. The biggest problem is my portion control. It went out the window again after work. Had way too many chips and dip. I have begun to switch my dip from ranch to salsa which I think will help. I had a mix last night.
I finally fell asleep around 7a.m. and slept way too much. I woke up around 4p.m.. I had a lot of things I wanted to get done, including running. My legs were very sore though from running on Monday. No excuse though. Still wish I got some things done.
Food so far for the day:
4p.m. Chips and Salsa, only one plate though
7p.m. Vanilla shake with a little bit of ice cream
9p.m. Half a plate of vegetables, a quarter plate of pork and a quarter plate of mashed potatoes with gravy

I plan on running when I get out of work since I didn't do it earlier today.

Weigh In for Mondays Challenge

Today I weighed in at 170.1. The lowest I have been in months. Talking to my coach in the middle of the week and having lots of shakes and running made a big difference for me this week! I feel soo much better than I did last week. 7lbs in one week not bad at all!

From Dr. Luigi Gratton on facebook

"Hello and Happy Saturday to you!I am sending you warm wishes from Bucharest Romania where this morning we had a group workout in the park for 500 people. Both Thursday and Friday, I appeared on the major morning shows to promote nutrition and exercise. The hosts wanted to talk about David Beckham the whole time but I explained that I act as the nutrition advisor to the Galaxy Football Club in Los Angeles, and not the personal advisor to Beckham. One thing i did talk about was David Beckham's commitment to nutrition and training. It is well known that Beckham uses Omega 3 fish oil for health in exercise, particularly to protect his knee joints. All of you know how much i love omega 3 Fish oil, so be sure to get your omega 3's everyday...if you are a vegetarian who doesn't eat fish, then you can add Flax Seed to your program. I am here in Romania until Monday, and then back to Los Angeles!all the best of healthy to you,Luigi"

Friday

Well today I talked to my coach and she encouraged me to watch the videon on www.livingherbalifelean.com and then consider signing up. She said it is great for people that struggle with emotional eating. They coach you through it online. I'll check it out and let you know what I think.
I struggled to get out of bed today, but knowing she was going to call got me up. Then after the call I decided to go for a 5K run. I just got back. I did it in 24:24. Ok but not as good as I want. I set a goal a couple of months ago to run the Boilermaker 15K from my hometown of Utica, NY in 65 minutes. Right now I am not close. I heard on a personal development CD the other day- "what the mind can consive, the mind can achieve". I believe if I am diligent and push over the next month I can do it.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Cool Prayer

I know this is off topic, but with all my struggles, it is hard to fall asleep lately. I got to thinking what I did as a kid. When I was a child, I remember saying this prayer with my parents before I went to bed at night. I like the prayer and it reminds me of a happy place in my life. I thought I would share.

Disappointment

Well today I weighed myself again. 178lbs. Two weeks ago I was down to 171lbs. It seems like when life is tough for me I resort to food and inactivity. TV, computer etc. This week was terrible for me. I kept eating crackers and dip and in large excess. I know I was doing it partly because I am frustrated with many things in life right now.

As many of you know. I am a full time casino dealer and I do a business on the side with Herbalife . I got into Herbalife when I was 200lbs(picture about) and I lost over 30lbs in 4 months on the program(picture above). My lowest weight was 164lb. I am struggling with getting my website exposure. I am struggling with keeping the weight off because I am down in the dumps about my lack of business success. I am also in the dumps because I looked at it as a way out of the casino business. I am not giving up but I am very frustrated. I paid $900 for my website and not one sale and its been 6 months. I think part of it is I have to work on it more, but I still thought by now I would have some sales on the website. I still get some small orders with Herbalife but not as much as I was hoping for.

My house is upsidedown by 100K, I am single and 28yrs old- can be fun but I wish I found the right one, I miss family they live in Utica, NY and in the casino industry I can't get holidays off and I owe over $60,000 in Credit Card debt. Daily all of these burdens are getting to me and its hard to get out of bed and deal with them.

On Friday, my mentor in Herbalife Rachel Ostler, who lives in Salt Lake City, I live in Las Vegas is going to call me and see how I am doing with my weight loss program and my business. She is the best, soo supportive, I couldn't have asked for a better mentor. I feel soo bad that I am letting her down right now. I know she wouldn't say that but I feel like it.

I'll let you know how our appointment goes.

4lbs one day?

I weighed into my Sunday challenge at 173lbs. My Monday challenge 177lbs. I eat a big dinner on Sunday night and I didn't take my Herbalife tablets on Sunday, but still. I can't describe how terrible I felt. All week being pretty good and one day throws it all off, ugh. I left the challenge pretty frustrated but I decided in my mind to let it motivate me. I left the challenge and ran hard for 20 minutes. Had one good meal and work and now I am home, 4:35a.m. and plan on having one shake and one piece of cheese, 300 calories. Thats it!!
