Weekend

Well my weekend went well. Met a new girl from online dating and we hung out and had a great time together.

Saturday morning I metup with my Team Challenge group for the last time before my first half marathon on Dec. 6th. They went over everything and told us the game plan. I am super excited and nervous at the same time. I can't wait.
Still short of my fundraising goal by $350, I will have to make up the difference. Its ok, but cost me more than I thought. I was a little disappointed that more people didn't support me and the cause that I am supporting. I partly did it because I saw other people fundraised through their blog and got a lot of donations. I only got a few. Maybe I need to read a book on how to blog and make it more attractive for people. I have also considered joining the foodies world of blogging and foodbuzz, maybe that would help, who knows.

Monday morning right now and I am trying to get as much done as possible. It never seems like I have enough time.

Weigh In

Today I weighed in at my Weight Loss Challenge at 169lbs. Just about no change from last week. I really need to get serious if I am going to have any shot at 155 by Dec. 12th. So I decided to go to the gym after work at 430am in the morning. I lifted some weighted, something I haven't done in quit a while and I did 4 miles on the treadmill. Afterwards I went in the sauna for 15 minutes and then the hot tube for 15 minutes, I love both! Great reward. Right now as I am typing I am having a herbalife shake. Hmm, tastes good and fills me up. I have been adding some Activa Vanilla Yogurt to it. Very good addition.

Any support for my Dec. 6th race is huge for me right now. Finances are soo tight and I get stuck with the difference. I am at $923.10 and I have to raise $1500.
Please Help!!

Weight Loss Challenge Today, Weight In

Its 5:37p.m. PST and I am about to get ready for my Weight Loss Challenge. I am anxious to see what the scale tells me. Before I even get on the scale though, I know I haven't gotten as much running in as I am suppose to this week. I missed my Saturday morning run with Team Challenge to go to a herbalife training in St. George, UT. The training was awesome but I never replace the run, I planned on Sunday and things came up. I planned on Monday and I slept in and things came up. I planned on going to bed right away last night and running today, but I slept all day, I just couldn't fall alsleep after work at 5a.m.. I work 8p.m.-4a.m. most days.

Eating wise I have been descent. Been following my plan with herbalife pretty good. Two shakes a day, tablets three times a day. I am suppose to have one small meal and two protein snacks around 200 calories around that. I think I have been a little bit over that. I was doing very well with a food log but over the weekend stopped doing it.

Well lets see what the scale tells me? Will update later.

Team Challenge

Has anyone else ever done a fundraising race? I misunderstood some things and found out that I was suppose to pay the difference in the fundraising today. I had no clue. We were told we had until the middle of January but I guess that was just for a reimbursement. Since I didn't have the money and I was using a debit card, I told the coach I would have it on Friday or Saturday when I get paid.

Any suggestions?

Any support would really help right now!

Weight Loss Challenge

Well I am off to my Weight Loss Challenge, its 6p.m, PST. I will update you later on how I did.

So far today, woke up at 3p.m., did some work on the computer, ran 4 miles. Had one shake.

I am a participant as well as a coach at the weight loss challenge. I was reading through our lesson today, which is about Metabolism: Truths and Myths and I thought this was a good piece from it-

"If you weigh 150lbs and 50lbs of you is fat and 100 lbs is fat-free, then you would burn about 1,400 calories per day at rest. If you don't get much activity, you won't burn much more than this throughout the day. But if you weight 150lbs and 25lbs of you is fat, and 125lbs of you is fat free, then you burn 1,750 calories per day at rest. And if you get some regular exericse and burn a few hundred calories more per day, your total calorie burn for the day might be 2,000 calories!

Monday

Well, yesterday I stopped over at my friends house that we do the Weight Loss Challenge on Tuesday's together and I took an early peak at my weight. At first the scale said 174lbs, I weighed 169 last Wednesday, I was shocked, then I took off my belt and some things from my pocket, 172lbs, still shocked because I have been eating relatively healthy and I ran 11 miles on Saturday morning. I think even though I have been eating healthy, my calorie intake has been too much, so I have to watch that.

After weighing in at my friends house, I went to work. Before work started at 9p.m., I was starving and decided to eat, put on my plate more food than I needed, I eat 3/4 of it and stopped and threw the rest out, which was good, it goes to a pig farm, so don't feel too bad and the food at work really isn't that good. The rest of my 8 hour shift, I had one instant herbalife shake with h30 hydration drink mixed in(180calories), two herbalife protein bars(140 calories each) and lots of water. When I got home from work, I was very hungry and had one abs burger(250 calories) with a think sandwich bun(110 calories) and water instead of the usual milk. I was still slightly hungry but I dealt with it and finally fell alsleep. Good day all in all.

The scale for me sometimes is a reminder that I need to readjust.

My goal is 155lbs by Dec. 12th when I go back to Utica, NY to visit family. One day at a time and I can make it!!

Goals

After reading Suzi's blog, I decided to update how well I have been doing with my goals and state new goals.

1. Water has been good, I have been getting at least half my weight in ounces of water almost daily.
2. Food log has been good but the last few days I got lazy and stopped doing it.
3. I'm sorry guys but I haven't been reading 5 blogs everyday, I love the blogs, I just sometimes get worn out and just want to watch tv, I will read more blogs this week
4. Following my running plan pretty well for Team Challenge this week, did miss one day but the rest was good, did 11 miles on Saturday, that was Awesome!
5. I have been very good with getting in at least one shake a day and my tablets three times a day with food. I want to mix up my recipes with the shakes and get more creative.

This week's goals:
My goals: 1. Drink at least half my body weight in ounces of water each day. 2. Follow my Team Challenge program and run four times this week for a total of 21 miles.3. Have at least one herbalife shake a day and my herbalife tablets three times a day with food.4. Never give up!!

Update

A little update, I know its been a while since I last posted.

Last weekend my parents visited from Utica, NY for four days. We went to the Grand Caynon. Went on a mull ride, hiked down three miles and back three miles in the Caynon. It was a great time. From there we went to Claremont, CA to visit my 95 year old aunt who is dieing with Pancreatic Cancer. She was with her nurse and wasn't very responsive. She was always very upbeat, even just two weeks ago. It was sad, that she wasn't more responsive. She did however say she could hear us and was just very tired. We went in the mountains near by, it was beautiful. We came back to Las Vegas that night, yeah lots of driving. The next day, Tuesday, we walked the Las Vegas strip a bit, had dinner at Del Toro at the Palazzo Casino, where I work. I had Tortellini, bread and water. At the higher end places the food is good, but they don't give you as much, which is good for my program. That night we went to Jersey Boys, also at the Palazzo. I didn't realize how many of the songs that I have heard over the radio that they sing. It was a great show.

I have been doing well, keeping to my plan. I weighed in the second week of my weight loss challenge on Tuesday and lost 3lbs in the first week!! I weighed in at 169, the first time I have been under 170lbs since the middle of 2008.

This morning, Saturday, I ran 11 miles with my Team Challenge group. I felt good, although my knees where a little sore. Dec. 6th is the Rock and Roll half marathon here in Las Vegas, I think I am doing well. Been running three to four times a week for about 20 miles a week. Getting closer to my fundraising goal of $1500, I am at $810 right now. I got lucky, the Venetian Foundation, same company as the Palazzo where I work, gave me $250 to support my efforts. That helped a lot. Any support is greatly appreciated- http://www.active.com/donate/lv09lasvegas/vegas09EGould , I know how tough times are right now, but its a great cause and I has really helped me with my training and losing my weight.

Barney PB giveaway

I just read an Amazing post about Barney's almond/peanut butter on Gina's blog. She is having a giveaway, so check it out- http://candidrd.blogspot.com/2009/11/barney-butter-giveaway.html

Why, Why??

Today, meaning Wednesday night- early Thursday morning was a good day for me eating wise and exercising. After meeting with my weight loss challenge group on Tuesday and starting a new challenge I feel energized to face this thing head on. I know their will be challenges that lie ahead of me but I am commited to finding a way to hit my goal of 155lbs by December 20th.

Yesterday I shared at the weight loss challenge a piece from a Chris's blog on her reasons Why she wants to lose weight. I will just share a little bit here(Oct. 7th I believe it was)-

" Our fat is our protection, our guardian, our friend. Oh, out loud you don't call it that. You want to get rid of it. You hate it.
But have you ever really looked at it? Have you never looked at why? If you have started losing weight, someone notices and then.. you binge. I hate to be the one to tell you this , but there is a deepr reason that just, "I like food." If you find yourself eating when your not hungry, to fill a void, to feed the loneliness, it's not just, "I like food". If you keep gettting to ceratin number and are unable to pass it, there is a bigger reason. There is a mental block to going lower. You are going to have to figure out why."
It goes on but I just want to get the point accross of what she is saying.

For me being overweight is more a depression thing, a way of dealing with not having life the way I want it to be. If I am happy, I tend to take care of myself better and eat healthier and exercise more. If I am depreesed, lonely and beating myself up, I eat, drink, gamble, cry and sleep. Most men don't admit to crying but I do on occasion, its more of a slow cry and an emptyness in my heart but its still a cry. Its the weirdess thing, sometimes I almost feel happy at this point, its like I am letting go a little and its a weird sense of relief for me. In any case I know that my reason Why I want to get healthy and lose weight is the biggest hurly for me. I feel like I have an amazing weight loss program with herbalife to follow, its just keeping my Why strong enough to follow it. Without that reason why it doesn't matter how strong the program is, it won't work.

Another blog I was reading today has there Why's right on there blog frontpage, I might look into trying to do something similiar- this is the blog - http://thebigsister80.blogspot.com/

Happy Thursday everyone!
