So far today

Well I woke up at 2p.m. I didn't want to get out of bed. I am in my house all by myself right now, and I just don't have motivation some days to get up. I finally got up with the thought of food and hungry, lol. I have one bowl of cereal. Then after another hour on the couch watching sportcenter, I have some blue chips with hot salsa. This was clearly just boredome eating. Then 2 hours later, I had an apple with peanut butter. I did have my tablets with my food, so thats a plus. I think it helps me from overindulging too much, even though I still do to a lesser degree.
Right now it 6:05p.m., I am about ready to go to work. 8p.m.-4a.m..

Motivation

Well, I screwed up again after work. Came home and eat lots of wheat thins with my favorite ranch and cheese dip. Woke up and since I was out of Wheat Thins had Corn Chips with Salsa Dip. I got me thinking about something. I have once heard "if you don't have strong enough why, it doesn't matter how easy the how to is, you won't do it." Robert Kiyosaki
I was looking at blogs and one I looked at spoke to me: its Ang, http://getfitby40.blogspot.com/
On the left side is this quote:

Words of Wisdom and Inspiration!
"I will not confuse being successful with being perfect. The first one is completely possible, the second one will only set me up to feel like a failure, even if I am not. I can and will be a success.""And if you don't make the 5 pounds this month, but do lose weight and it's a permanent weight loss? Do you think that, in a year, it will matter?""How will you recognize the good times if you don't have the occasional less-than-motivated moments?"Laura R. SilvermanIf you dont' quit, you won't fail.Vennie

I'm thinking about my why's right now:
Here are a few:
Feel better, have more energy, compete in sports more effectively, run my first half marathon, look hot for the ladies, my ex girlfriend-who has lost a lot of weight, help my business with herbalife, feel more confident about myself, beat my brothers and family at the Boilermaker road race next year, help my dating life.

Those are just a few. What are yours whys?

Minor Setback

Well last night I was starving and overeat. I had wheat thins, with a dip of cheese and low fat ranch dressing. I also had three Michelob Ultras. This morning I woke up and didn't want to get out of bed until I thought about eating wheat thins again. I had the same thing for breakfast. I went to Starbucks and met someone about my mortgage and had a coffee.

Then I went to the gym and ran for 1 hour on the treadmill, it said I burned 1001 calories, hoorah!! I went in the hot tube and then the sauna. Got home, had a bowl of blueberries and soy milk. Drank two cups of Mango Aloe. Now I am drinking Raspberry Tea, 2 cups so far, helps control my hunger.

"The Skinny on Fad Diets"

On my flight from Las Vegas, NV to Albany, NY I found this article in a magazine on the plane.

"The American Institue for Cancer Research recently evaluated several popular fad diets and found what too many dieters know first hand: Quick fixes have fast but non-lasting results, and may lead to a host of other problems. Most fad diets are essentially low-calorie diets, but many eliminate major nutrient groups, such as fiber and carbohydrates, as well as food groups that supply necessary vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. These diets also lack a proper balance of protein, carbs, and fats, deviating sometimes widely from the recommendations of major health organizations such as the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.

"Ketosis," touted as an achievement by some diets, is in fact one of the body's emergency responses. In ketosis, the body metabolizes muslce tissue instead of fat, leading to problems such as nausea, dehydration, headaches, irritability, bad breath, and kidney problems. Plus diets too rich in protein may cause calcium to leach from your bones. Now what? It's back to exercise, eating smarter, and portion control.(Most Americans underestimate how much they consume by as much as 25 percent; visit the USDA's web site for guidance.)"

Many diet and programs are good out there. Just be careful. I personally like herbalife. Partly because the program supplies your body with Protein, Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Minerals, Fats and Oils. I put up recently a pic of what is in a shake on my website, www.weightloss222.com.

Wedding

Well I am back in NY. I arrived Friday night and I go back to Las Vegas on Tuesday. My college roommate of 4 yrs just got married on Saturday. It was a great wedding!! Lots of food, drinks and dancing. It reminded me of the truly happy moments in life and that life is worth living. The excellent Italian food with lots of orvours was great! Not great for my diet, but they sure tasted good. I find it very hard to watch what I am eating and eat in moderation at a Wedding. Its just soo good. And of course you have to drink and loosen up.
I am up a few pounds very since the 13th, the Boilermaker.
Food for today:
1 cup of Chicken Soup Mix
I cup of tea
BBQ Chicken Salad at the Cheesecake Factory
Homemade dinner by mom: 1 Steak, 1 dinner roll, corn on the cobb, salad with Italian Dressing, 2 cups of milk, 1 glass of wine
1/2 cheescake- I just couldn't resist but I gave half away to my cousin

Exercise:
Ran 1.8miles

Run

In an effort to meet more people and get some exercise in, I went for a run after work at 5a.m.. I just got home, its a little after 6a.m.. It was tough going, I was soo close to not going, I was tired and sleepy, but I did it!! I feel better now, but not as sleepy and I need to get some sleep.

I am kinda sick of being single. I am thinking about doing more meetup.com activity, the plentyoffish.com thing isn't working as well as it did at first.
What do you guys do for dating?

In Las Vegas

Well its Sunday and I am back in Las Vegas. I am emotionally torn up. Lots of parties. I eat way too much and drank way too much on my vacation. I go back to work tomorrow. I don't want to look at a scale. I am frustrated I didn't follow my plan better. I was on and off my herbalife tablets and shakes, didn't take them everyday, I think that made a difference. The food is soo good back home!

Leaving Utica and back to Vegas Sunday

Well I have been in Utica, Ny where I grew up for two weeks now. Its been an interesting trip. A wedding, two graduation parties, my Grandpa died- had the service and the burial-he was 92 and has been having major issues since march- so it wasn't a huge surprise-I am just glad he isn't suffering-he will be missed greatly-we all loved him, Boilermaker 15K road race(9.3 miles).
Lots of temptations for food and beer. I have tried my best but its been tough. Love the pizza and the beers at the brewery-Saranac-home grown brews!
Will catch up later.

Zuccini Bread

My mom is making Zuccini Bread. It is soo good, but I noticed what my mom puts in it, a fair amount of sugar and adatives. I am taking Thermobond / Cheaters Delight we call it 30 minutes before soo I don't absorb as much of the saturated fat.
Any suggestions on a good recipe makeover for Zuccini Bread?

Boilermaker Run

Well I just finished the 15K, 9.3 mile Boilermaker run. My older brother, Dad, sister, sister in law, cousin and friends ran in it. I ran in it just over 1:09 minutes gun time, my brother beat me a little with a time of 1:07:20 minutes. I kept up with him until the 10K mark. I beat him last year and he was in for revenge this year. I beat everyone else in my family, but more importantly it was a fun and exciting run!! Lots of spectators including my younger brother, cousin, aunt, Grandpa and sister. Lots of Saranac beer and food at the end, which makes it even more fun. The camera crews were around as well. What a fun race!

Grandpa Died

I just found out like an hour ago that my Grandpa has died. He has been suffering for the last 6 months with multiple health issues. I am glad he isn't in pain anymore but we will miss him. I am sad right now.
My question is how do you deal with a death in the family? How do you grieve? I am just sad right now.
We all loved him!!

Trial Run

Just a quick update. My father, brother and I ran the course of the Boilermaker and we did it at my fathers pace, in 78 minutes. I felt good and the weather was nice.
So far the trip has gone well. Had one slice of pizza but besides that eating good for the most part.
It feel great to see family and do things as a family.

Good story

My friend had these incredible results with herbalife. Just wanted to share the story.

Lonnie Hicks was overweight and suffered from a host of dis-eases when his wife, Yvonne, got him on Herbalife products. Right away he noticed a change in his overall well-being. Lonnie was taking 35 prescriptions for his health issues, including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic pain, depression, acid reflux, sleep apnea, sinusitis and skin conditions due to being wheel-chair bound most of the time. Today, he is happier and healthier than ever thanks to Herbalife products - He's lost over 30# with 30 to go; he's off his heart medications; he's gone from over 100 units of 2 types of insulin per day to completely off all insuling after 11 years!! Off all depression medications - still working on his last 19 medications with his doctors' blessings. Lonnie's doctor said his joyous and optimistic outlook is his best medicine! Lonnie is thankful to Herbalife for feeding his body what it needed to fight off whatever it was fighting to put him on the path to his wellness. He threw his wheelchair away a few months ago and began walking with a walker. His goal is to throw the walker away and walk with a cane. Then, throw the cane away and walk unaided. And I'll bet he does, too!Congratulations Lonnie!

Going home to Utica, NY

Well I am leaving Thursday morning, 7a.m. out of Las Vegas to NYC. From NYC I am taking a train to Albany where my parents will pick me up. It will be nice to go home.
My best friend growing up, Brian, is getting married on July 4th, that should be fun. Two cousins are graduating High School, one party on July 5th and one on July 12th.
On July 12th, I am running in the Boilermaker road race in the morning. This is the big race I run in every year back home. My brothers, father, sisters etc. run in it. I love it! Its such a great race, a lot of community participation. Beer and food at the end of the race.
It will be tough with all the temptations to eat while I am home. I am sure my mom will make some great food. Some of its healthy and some of its not. Fresh fruit and vegetables though, which will be nice. They sell it on the corner near my house. Yeah I grew up near farms. The pizza in Utica is incredible. I don't eat much pizza in Vegas, but everytime I am home, I tend to eat a fair amount.
I will update the trip at some point.

Have a great week and weekend everyone!!

Cheese Curds

I had such a good day Tuesday until I got out of work. Tired and hungry, I decided to go to the local pub where they have Wisconsin Cheese Curds. I down two plates of them. I just couldn't stop. To make matters worse I lost $270 playing BJ on the machine. Its a reminder, that you usually don't win gambling.
Good day turned into a bad night.
