Dining out

Quick update:
I weighed in today for my weight loss challenge. Down 1lbs from last week.
Went out to dinner with friends at LAVO at the Palazzo. Excellent Italian food, served family style. I think I overeat a bit, it tasted soo good and I forgot my tablets from Herbalife at home to control my appetite.
I plan on going for a run tomorrow and having two shakes and one main meal. One day at a time.

Well its 340a.m. PST. I just got home from work. I had a vanilla shake with a couple scoops of low fat ice cream and soy milk. Hmm good! Still hungry a little but I will give it a while and try to avoid any more food. I am having one Samuel Adams beer, yeah I know, not great but just one. Happy Friday Everyone!

Hotmail account broke into

I am soo frustrated!! About 5a.m. this morning, my account got broken into. I think its because I responded to a fake email from msn. I can't login into my account. They even changed the security codes. Therefor I can't even reset the password. Anyone had this happen before? I am soo frustrated. I emailed msn hotmail and they said they would respond within 24 hours.
On a side note, throughout this morning, I was drinking shakes. But when I finally stopped and watched tv to wind down, I was soo frustrated I snacked on more wheat thins than I should have with ranch dip and shredded cheese.
Good news is, I ran on Monday and Tuesday at Mt. Charleston. Got quit the workout in.

New Shake

I love to snack before I go to bed. I decided to have a shake instead tonight. Heres the recipe:
Butterfinger- 2 scoops cookies n cream, 1/2tsp sugar free butterscotch pudding, 1/2 tbsp sugar free chocolate pudding, 1 tbsp peanut butter, chocolate soy milk.
Tastes good and controls my hunger well.

Quick Update

I ran in the 10K road race on Saturday in 48 minutes. About a minute slower than last year, but better than my training pace this year. My brother just beat me at the finish less than 5 seconds, at least it was close. We went running at Mt. Charleston on Monday(6 miles) and today (8.5), I am sore. I weighed in at my weight loss challenge on Monday at 171lbs, down 5 lbs in 3 weeks so far.

New Favorite Shake, Race Tomorrow

Well I am drinking my new favorite shake. It consists of Wild Berry Mix, Orange Juice, frozen fruit medley and ice, hmmm soo good. I take Herbalife shakes as part of my plan to lose weight. I have gotten sick of the orignal shakes with just water, so I started to mix it up and try different recipes. This one really tops it off. I really like Orange Juice and I am not sure why I stopped drinking it. I know it has sugar in it, but it tastes good and has some benefits to it. I buy the 50% less sugar variety.
Tonight my older brother Nate, who is a doctor is coming to town. I am trying to get out of work early to pick him up. Tomorrow is the big race, 10K, but a very challenging race and my brother always pushes me to the brink. I am in worst shape than I was last year at this time. Here are my results from last year,
Thats me 29th, at 46:51, 7:32/mile pace. I ran a trial run the other day at 48:37, so I am going to need to push myself hard to get to the pace I did last year. My goal is to me or beat my time last year. It will be a challenge.

Quick Update

Well after work I went at 5a.m. to my friends gym and ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes. Ran over 4 miles, great run, but tiring. Its now 730a.m. trying to wind down and get some sleep.

At work, 11:30p.m. PST

Well I am at work dealing Texas Hold Them Poker on the floor, not the poker room. I am dealing to this lady that is probably 45, from Cyrus originally, and smokin hot! It got me thinking why I work out so hard and what not and watch my weight. Partly because I don't want to be single forever and I am sure being in shape and taking care of myself will help with that. At the same time I think women are more into personality than anything else. I do it more for myself than anything else but the libido helps, lol.
So far at work had a big salad, two cups of tea. Doing good for the night.

Wednesday morning

I had to get up early to bring a friend to the airport. Its 11a.m. and I usually wake up around 2p.m.. I am soo tired and grumpy. At 1p.m. I am talking to my mentor in Herbalife and at 2p.m. I am going to the gym to see my trainer. All I want to do is sleep, ugh.

Run at 5a.m.

Well I got out of work at 4a.m. and I did a trial run for the 10k I am doing this Saturday. if you are interested in the race here in Las Vegas. Last year I did the race in 46:51. Last week I did a trial run and I ran it in 55 minutes. Well before I did the trial run my older brother who is a doctor and seems to beat me at almost everything in life, said he recently ran the 10K in Utica, NY in 46 minutes. He basically said he couldn't imagine me running the race in 46 minutes if I did it in 55 minutes last week. Well with that motivation in mind, I ran my but off this morning. I was trying to get 45 minutes. I didn't do that well, but I did improve my time from last weeks from to 48:37 minutes. Just about 2 minutes off of last years time and I am 10lbs heavier than last year at the moment. Throughout the run, I just constantly pushed hard and thought about how my brother believed that I couldn't do it. The motivation was huge, because it was very tough to push myself soo hard. It felt great after but I was breathing hard during it.
On a side note, I was listening to a CD from Success magazine on the way home and they mentioned that many people are overweight as a sympton for things that aren't going well in their life. That got me thinking and I think he's right. When things are going well, I often eat more and exercise less and get depressed. Its very hard for me to stay thin when I am feeling down about life.

Weigh In for Mondays Challenge

I weighed in for my Monday weight loss challenge. 173.5lbs. Down 2 lbs in 2 weeks. Ok but not great.
Food so far
Breakfast(4p.m.)I had a Wild Berry Shake, with frozen fruit medley(dole, much better than generic) with Orange Juice(50% less sugar).
Lunch(8p.m.)- 1/2 Chicken Parmesan, 1 cup macaroni, 1 cup vegetables, tomatoes
Lots of Tea

Weight In Sunday

Well Sunday we had our weight loss challenge. I weighed in at 174. Down 2lbs in 2 weeks. Ok but not as good as I should have done.
Went out to the M Resort for dinner. Had a 1/2 sandwich and 1 cup of soup. I was dying for more food, even though I wasn't hungry. Just soo used to eating more for dinner.
After that we went to Stoneys Country Bar, although on Sunday the radio station shows up and plays hip hop. Girls drink for free, no fair. My roommate Mike and I went. We mostly just drank and watched everyone else dance like crazy. I was driving and couldn't drink too much. I need to drink a lot to get the courage to go up to a random girl and try to dance. Never been my fortay. I need to find another way to date more. Still had fun though.
Its late, 3:30a.m.. I am dying to snack on food and watch tv. I just hope I don't snack too much.

Positive Saturday

So far I woke up. Watched the DVR, Criminal Minds. Did blogs. Drank tea and had my herbalife pie. So far so good for the day.

Emotions and Eating

Well I got out of work at I went to my friends place, Phet and we worked out together for 30 minutes. The irony of it is she is heavier than ever, she had a kid three months ago and I still want more than just friendship with her. I still find her attractive. Well in any case she still seems to just look at me as a friend. I haven't really ever had any very close girls that were just friends so its weird. I think she might want to be just friends because she found out I have a lot of chest hair and she doesn't seem to like it.
In any case to get to my point. I left her place and drove home. I was frustrated and discouraged even though I had a good time with her. I guess I am frustrated with being single still. In any case I got home and reverted back to my old ways. I didn't take my Herbalife tablets and I eat a ton of Wheat Thins and dipped it in sauce and cheese. I am feeling very fat and full now and down about doing it. I have worked soo hard to exercise a lot and eat healthy. The whole day I just had shakes, salad and whole wheat bread. The emotions took over and I eat food out of emotions.
I was listening to a CD from success magazine. They mentioned on the CD, that often times you eat because thats how you deal with life not going right. Eating is like money. If you overspend you get out of control. If you overeat the same happens. Often both of these choices are emotional choices.
On a positive note. Yesterday when I did get home from work. I had the frozen shake. It tasted great and filled me up very well. 200 calories and I was stuffed and satisfied.

Trial Run after work

Well next Saturday the 23rd I am running in a 10K race and my brother is coming to visit to run in it with me. My brother is a doctor and has beaten me at pretty much everything in life. I beat him last year for the first time in a long time in a race. It will be nice to have a friendly competition.
Anyways after work at 5a.m., yes I get out of work at 5a.m.. I decided to do a trial run on the race course. I ended up finishing it in 55 minutes. Last year I did the run in 46:51 seconds so I am off my mark for last year. I have a week to go, I plan on doing two more trial runs. I just got home so far I haven't eaten anything but I am hungry. I have my frozen shake in the freezer I think I might try.

Snacking Late at night

Well I got home from work at 5a.m. and tried to watch TV and wind down and only snack a little. Well that didn't work out so well. I first had a Herbalife pie, which was good and if I give it time will fill me and keep me satisfied. But I was craving more food and something more in my mouth. I started with 2 100 calorie snacks. Then I had a bowl of wheat thins with a dip of tomato sauce with parmesan cheese. The pie is about 250 calories, plus 2 calories for the snacks plus maybe 300 calories for the wheat thins and dip. Way too much before I go to bed.
So today I talked with my mentor in Herbalife. She suggested a few things.
1. Take 2 tablets of snack defense before I leave work
2. Take a 1/2 tablet of total control before I leave work
3. Make my favorite shake before I leave for work, freeze it in a bowl and when I get home from work eat it while I am watching tv. It will satisfy my desire for something to chew while watching tv.
4. If I do eat wheat thins, for dip put low fat Philly Cheese Cheese and mix it with our beverage mix packets and it creates a mix of good carbs and good protein for a dip.
I am going to try this tonight after work. I will let you know how it goes.

Back in Vegas

Well I am back in Las Vegas. Been busy trying to catch up on things. So far I have been good though. I went running Monday before I left Utica, Ny. I took Tuesday off but I ran today for a good 30 minutes. I am back to my plan of two shakes a day, one regular meal, tea and small protein snacks in between meals. Today was good so far. I had a shake when I woke up, Wild Berry, frozen strawberries and orange juice. For lunch I had cookies and cream, frozen blueberries and milk, it tasted pretty good. For dinner I had a large salad with turkey. Two cups of tea so far.

It was great seeing family. I eat a little bit more than I wanted but I ran three out of the four days. On my birthday my family took me out to Red Lobster. I had Salmon with mixed vegetables, potato, scallops and the awesome bread that Red Lobster has, I probably had three of those, yum yum.

My Birthday Party

Well today is mothers day and I am home visiting family in Utica, NY. We had a great mothers day party/ multiple birthdays of the extended family including myself. It was great to see everyone. I miss seeing family more and one of my motivations for doing my business with Herbalife is so that I can quit my Job and have the freedom to visit more or move back to Utica. I lovw my family and miss them greatly.
For dinner I had a steak that was partly marinated which is good because otherwise it would be too dry and I would need to use sauce. I had a salad with thousand ranch dressing but less dressing than what I normally put on it. I had one roll, one potato and vegetables and I was full as could be. I took my vitamins before the meal which helps me feel fuller quicker. Then we did presents which went great. I got some money which is always nice, a raquetball raquet, a book about how to pick up women from my two sisters, lol, and running shoes.
Then came dessert which was tough. I took my thermobond(which we call cheaters delight) (helps prevent the absortion of fat and gives you a sense of satiety quicker) before dessert which helped. My mom bought me an ice cream cake, which was delicious, and we had two excellent chocolate cakes. I had a small piece of each, I wanted more but I resisted.
All in all it has been a great day so far.

Well I am in Utica, NY visiting my extended family. Things on my trip are going well so far. The food temptations are tough, had a couple donuts this morning, but I have actually been running a lot with my brother and father.

Going to NY after work

I live in Las Vegas, NV and I am working 8p.m.-4a.m.. Then my flight leaves for NYC, JFK at 7a.m.. I got that part of the flight for free with my Jetblue Credit Card credits. But from there to Utica Ny(where I am from and my family is), I plan on taking a Subway to NY Penn Station and catching a bus or train. Man its going to be a long day. Hopefully I get some sleep.
I am looking forward to seeing my family for Mothers Day and my birthday is Monday the 11th. I miss family, so lets see how the trip goes.
For the trip I am going to try to avoid the fatty food at the airport by bringing my instant shake mix and just mixing it up with water. If you are curious about what kind of shakes I am talking about go to

Late night snacking

Well lately I have been struggling with snacking when I get home before I go to bed. Now I work 8p.m.-4a.m., so when I get home its about 5a.m.. I like to watch TV and snack on things, like wheat things. As many of you know I support Herbalife. Well I generally don't follow the program perfectly, I do follow it. Well I finally decided to try to have a shake instead of wheat things when I get home. It was very hard mentally to make this change, but physically after I had the shake I wasn't hungry at all. I think I am going to play with the different types of recipes I can make with the shake, so I don't get bored with the same shake everyday. I was amazed though that I had one shake and even though the desire was to stuff my face with wheat things, I didn't and I wasn't hungry. Sometimes I eat even when I am not hungry just to do something, so I am glad I didn't do that either.

Well last night when I got home from work, I ended up having two squares of my Herbalife Rice Krispies. I only drank Herbal Aloe, I usually drink milk which I love but trying to cut back. Today, Wednesday my food so far:
Breakfast: 12 noon- Stir fry of mixed vegetables and eggs with taramack on top
Lunch: 3p.m. - Shake
Dinner: 9p.m. - Mac + Cheese, Lasagna, Beef noodles, mixed vegetables
At work there wasn't much to choose from and I love Mac and Cheese even though I know its not the best for you. I felt like crap afterwards, I wish I didn't eat it, should have had salad again.

Well its 5a.m., I just got home from work. I am tired and hungry. I used to snack on Wheat Thins and milk when I got home from work. Tonight or this morning depending on who you are, I plan on having my rice Krispies treat with the protein mix I get from Herbalife. New Weight Loss Challenge

As part of encouragement for the business I do with Herbalife, we do Weight Loss Challenges. I am starting a new one with another distributor tomorrow. I am partly doing it for the business, but I also really need to get back on track and lose weight. $29 a person and the half the money goes to the winner, then second and third. We are looking at maybe 10-15 people. Also my friend who is joing it, we are having a side bet of $100. I live in Las Vegas, what do you expect. Today I really felt like splurging, knowing that I am going to have to be very good after tomorrow. So far I have eaten a lot of wheat things, and I have some fried chicken, beans, and stir fry vegetables. Not too bad I guess, but worse than normal.

Well last night, I got out of work at 4:45a.m. and I was starving. I didn't have much food left at home expect my shakes. Albertsons opens at 5a.m. so I went there just to get some things for my shakes mostly and I was thinking about getting pears. Well they didn't have pears. I did get grapes and two apples, but I went by the bakery area and needless to say it got me. I got one donut. What else got me what I fell for my wheat thins with cheese and ranch dressing again. I got home eat the donut and had a bowl of the cheese and ranch dressing for dipping my wheat things in. I woke up and was craving it again, this time I had two bowls of it. Now I am beating myself up for cheating soo much.

Dinner at M Resort

I live in Las Vegas and my friend called me yesterday and asked me to go to M Resort and have dinner at the Sushi restaurant. I decided to go. I had an appetizer of some sort of salad with a mix of cheese, it was very good, but I am not sure what was in it. For the main dish I had some kind of roll with Kobe Beef on top, it was very good. Dessert was my buddies idea and I couldn't resist but we shared it, Double Chocolate Cake, hmmm soo good. Just about to finish my day at work, 3:15a.m. PST. Since dinner had a protein bar I get through Herbalife, one piece of bread and lots of water.
