Getting ready for 10 mile run

I just got home from work. Its about 5a.m. in the morning. I work in a casino as a casino dealer and WOW did we see a lot of crazy costumes and it wasn't even Halloween tonight. I love how the girls barely wear anything for Halloween. Lots of nurse outfits. One of my favorite I saw was of Eve, not much on but you got the idea, it was cute.
I am getting ready now to go for my run with Team Challenge. Last weekend I was soo tired after work I didn't go and just went on the treadmill later. This week I made sure I slept extra during the day on Friday. So far it seems to have helped because I am still wide awake which is good. Drinking some herbal tea as well to keep me awake. We are meeting at 7a.m.. Most people are wearing costumes, since I didn't get to the store, I am going to wear my Beckham LA Galaxy Jersey with Soccer Shorts and Soccer Socks. Not the best but it will have to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated- http://www.active.com/donate/lv09lasvegas/vegas09EGould

A little update

On Sunday, we had our last meeting for the three month weight loss challenge. Even though I struggled emotionally at times during that three month span, I still ended up losing 4lbs during the challenge and getting third place out of about 10 people. I think training with Team Challenge and getting on a regular running pattern helped me towards the end. At times I had gained weight during the challenge.

We are now starting a new Weight Loss Challenge next Tuesday. If you live in Las Vegas you are welcome to join us.

This week. I ran 5 miles on Tuesday. 2 Miles on Wednesday. Plan on running 5 miles on Thurday and then 12 miles with Team Challenge on Saturday morning.

Please even $5 would mean soo much to me and just think if you support me I will be supporting your blog even more- http://www.active.com/donate/lv09lasvegas/vegas09EGould

Team Challenge?

1. What are your opinions on giving money for charitable functions

2. What is a good way to ask for money for a charitable cause without being out of line?

I am running with Team Challenge and need to raise money for it. Any ideas?

Thanks
Emmett

Weekend in Atlanta

Well my weekend in Atlanta went pretty good. It was pretty neat hearing from the doctors of herbalife and the CEO of the company. Also hearing all the inspirational stories of people that have gone from nowhere to making an incredible career with herbalife. I enjoyed networking with many people at the social events and talking about nutrion and business. I went out to dinner with a group of people in there 20's and 30's(the younger crowd) on Saturday night. More than half were women, a little intimidating for me, but it was nice at the same time. Not that I am afraid of women, I just tend to have less to talk to them about. But at least we had herbalife and health and wellness to talk about. Had an incredible meal- Grilled Scallops, I researched it and there is a ton of protein in Scallops. The rest of the night I could barely eat anything. Its soo nice being around people that think similiar to you. We were all talking about what was healthy on the menu etc.
Atlanta was cold in the 50's most of the time.

Wednesday

I got out of work at 4a.m. and staying on track with my Team Challenge, I went to the gym and did two miles on the treadmill. Yesterday I did 5 miles at about a 9 minute pace. Today I challenged myself by running 2 miles at a 7 minute pace. I felt good afterwards. My best mile in High School was just about a 6 minute mile. I think I can get back to that pace at some point.
Afterwards I rewarded myself again by going in the hot tube, I love the hot tube at the gym. It relaxes me and lets me unwind after a good workout. While I was in the hot tube, a little depression about my life and lack relationships with women started getting me down. It passed after a little while, but it felt weird. I figure if I am going to be single at least I mid as well make the best of it and do something productive with my life. I see on soo many of these blogs people that are married and happy about there marriage. I am happy for them. I once had a great relationship with a women and it makes me wonder how it will feel again.
I am off to bed. Tomorrow I work 8p.m.-4a.m., then I am leaving out of the airport at 6:30a.m. for my flight to Atlanta. Going to the herbalife extravaganza for the weekend. A little nervous meeting soo many people at once, but it should be exciting at the same time.

Recent Pics, etc.

This is my training plan for my Team Challenge. Its a little after 5a.m. Wednesday morning. I just got back from the gym, I did 5 miles today after work, since I was lazy all day Tuesday and missed my training run. Today before work I plan on running 2 miles according to this schedule. I love having a reason more than just for myself to run.

After some people mentioned Dave Ramsey in there comments about my blog on Monday, I found this info that he wrote. It was in Success magazine. Not sure how to fix the image. Any ideas?

Herbalife Pie I made yesterday. I had two pieces after I went to the gym. About 250 calories a piece with lots of nutrition in it. I got the recipe from www.wlc101.net

Las Vegas Athletic Club, where I go to the gym.

Tithing?

I have not always tithed much if any. But after reading the book rich dad poor dad and taking a personal developement course through Robert Kiyosaki richdads coaching program. My view of tithing has changed. Basically he says you should pay yourself first. Its not the amount of money that is important its the concept. But he suggests, paying yourself 10% of your income for savings, 10% tithing, 10% for investing. I started with a piggy bank, then envelopes, and now a seperate bank account. I recently decided to join Team Challenge- Crohn's and Colitis- Crossing the Finish Line to find a cure. So it got me thinking about how people view tithing and giving. I decided to look at some youtube videos and here are a couple I saw that I liked.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoFecVkseZ0 - Robert Kiyosaki philsophy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XK5dWGDyXZ0&feature=related - Church Philosophy, funny too

(can't figure out how to take the youtube videos and put them in the blogger format, any ideas?)

What are you opinions on tithing?

Saturday summary

Well I finally got to sleep after my run around 10a.m.. Woke up a little after 3p.m. and we got to the UNLV vs. BYU game by 4:30p.m.. Starting tailgating before the game. In summary, I had several light beers, one hot dog, and half a pizza at the game. After the game we got free chicken from Canes chicken. Had two pieces of chicken and fries. Came home, still hungry, had 3 100 calorie packs, two cups of milk. Not the best day eating and drinking. Got to sleep around midnight, woke up around 3a.m.. Figured I would start the day off right, having a shake for breakfast, before I head off to the Arizona Cardinals game with friends. Hopefully I can find something realtively healthy at the game.

9 Mile run wtih Team Challenge

Well I got out of work at 4:40a.m. Saturday morning and meetup with my Team Challenge Group at 6a.m. right around the corner from my house. This morning we ran 9 miles. It was a cool plensent morning here in Las Vegas. I started at the front of the pack and never looked back. I was feeling great and the thought that I was doing this for someone else and to help other people really was in the back of my mind and inspiring me. The music on my headset helped as well. The whole time, I only looked back once or twice to see if someone was close. I really just was challenging myself and the inspiration in my mind of helping other people. I ran real good and ending up finishing well in front of everyone else. I didn't time myself because it wasn't about that, but someone about 5 runners back said he came in 1 hour and 12 minutes.

Last week doing the same distance I was about 10th. However, I didn't know where I was going and I felt shy around new people and wan't to follow and not lead. I still felt shy this week, but not as shy. After we all finished we had a potluck breakfast. I made my shakes and put it in a pitcher. I don't think anyone knew what it was, I should have labeled it. There were lots of fruits, bagels, pancakes, muffins, I didn't have any, just two shakes, roughly 450 calories. It was nice chatting with other people and getting ideas on how to fundraise, what to write or say to people. I read a sad story that they had on the display of a girl that is 20, that has had Crohn's disease since she was 3. She missed her Senior prom, and spent most of her summers in school recovering from surgeries. They said she is in the hospital but we will meet her as soon as she feels better. If you are interested in helping my cause, I have a link on the side of my blog. Thank you for any support at all!

I am going to the UNLV vs. BYU game with friends tonight. Tomorrow morning bright and early going with friends to Arizona to see the Arizona Cardinals versus the Texans on Sunday. Go Cardinals!

Tuesday

Well I slept in all day until 5p.m. on Tuesday. Got up and had some Herbalife Tea and then had a Herbalife Shake before I left for work at 7p.m. I was pretty good at work. Had some more Herbalife Tea around 9p.m.. At about 12 midnight I had a plate of food. Some chicken soup, two chicken wraps and half a plate of fresh vegetables. Yeah they had fresh vegetables for once.
Later around 2a.m., I had one banana, one chicken wrap and some more vegetables. I wasn't too hungry, but I knew I was going to go to the gym after work.
For my program with Crohns and Colitis, they have me running Tuesday- 3 miles, Wednesday - 5 miles and Thursday- 3 miles.
Well since I didn't wake up until 5p.m., I decided to go to the gym after work at 3a.m.. I did my 3 miles in just over 22 minutes on the treadmill. Then I went in the hot tube at the gym to reward myself.

So today went pretty good. Starting to get back on track.

? - Does anyone know how I can add my donation website-

to this blog?

All donations are appreciated!

Quick Post

I signed up for the Crohns and Colitis foundation training program. I just got my website and I have to personalize it and then I will put it up here and on facebook. I ran 9 miles with the group on Saturday. I was soo sore the next day.
Weighed in on Sunday at 180 lbs. I am soo upset at myself. This is the most I have weighed in months. I have just been soo depressed about soo many things and it has been affected the way I eat. I really didn't want to tell you all, but I know this is all about the ups and downs we go through.
I slept a lot last night. My other way of dealing with things.

Tomorrow is the first day of my training program that they set up for me. 3 miles. When I start exercising, it seems to help my feel better too. I think signing up for a cause and running with other people is good for me. I just hope I get enough support so I don't have to pay the$1500 all by myself.

I will be looking at all your blogs soon. Just been lethargic lately.

9 miles

Well I just got out of work. Its 5a.m., and I am going to go for my first training run with the Crohns and Colitis Foundation. They tell me I should have my fundraising website within a couple days. I will be putting it up on my blog, if anyone would like to support me and the cause. Thanks

On another note. I was dealing dice/craps tonight at work. It was slow for a Friday and we didn't make a lot of money/tip wise, but I did end up dealing to a couple famous people. I met Jennifer Morrison who plays Dr. Allison Cameron on the show House. At first I thought it must have been someone I dealt to before because she looked soo familiar. I even asked her if I dealt to her before and she says she doesn't come to Vegas much so probably not. After a couple more questions, like where are you from etc.? I finially figued it out and asked her. I love the show House and DVR it every week. Afterwards I was like, wow how come I didn't figure that out quicker. She was nice. She was with a guy from the show prison break, never seen the show, just looked him up- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amaury_Nolasco.

Had a good day of food.

Breakfast for me(5p.m.): 1 English Muffin with peanut butter and sliced bananas on top- saw it on another blog

Lunch- Had a herbalife shake

Dinner(midnight)- Half a plate of Steamed Broccoli, Chicken Adobul and one piece of ribs

Snack- A herbalife instant shake with Orange H30 herbalife mix

Snack- two bananas

Picture Food Blog, First Video

Lately, I have fallen off of the wagon, per se, a little bit. I had a friend at work even say to me today, are you gaining weight? But I am regaining my desire again. I am back to my program with Herbalife full force. It worked before extremely well.

Here is the basic idea of the program:

Weight Loss
3 times a day- take my tablets with my food
2 times a day- have a shake
1 time a day- have a regular meal

2 small snacks

As you can see from here, I followed it pretty good today. Had two shakes. Took my tablets. Had two meals instead of one(little slip). One small snack.

About 11p.m. at work. I good snack to hold me over. Herbalife Chicken Soup mix, 70 calories, 15 grams of protein. I take it with my tablets. Helps control my appetite, in between meals.

About 8p.m. at work. I only eat 3/4 of the sandwich. Vegetables with it. And of course my tablets with my food.
About 4p.m. in the afternoon at home. I took my herbalife shake with cantaloupe.

When I woke up around 1p.m., my herbalife shake.

My first video. Not really sure what I am doing. This is more of a test video. Let me know what you think.
